Target Information
UBA6 (also known as UBE1L2, MOP-4) is a novel E1 enzyme specific for ubiquitin and belongs to the ubiquitin-activating E1 family. It participates in the ubiquitination cascade, activating ubiquitin by adenylating its carboxy-terminal glycine residue with ATP and forming a ubiquitin–E1 thioester intermediate. UBA6 isoforms are implicated in spermatogenesis and male fertility and are highly expressed in human monocytes.
