Target Information
The KCNN4 gene encodes a voltage-independent, calcium-activated potassium channel protein. Activation by intracellular calcium leads to membrane hyperpolarization, promoting calcium influx. It may represent the predominant calcium-activated potassium channel in T-lymphocytes. Although similar to other KCNN family genes, it may form a distinct subfamily.
