Target Information
Gastrokine 1 (GKN1), also known as CA11, is a 185-amino-acid secreted protein belonging to the gastrokine family, characterized by a BRICHOS domain and an asn-rich region. GKN1 functions as an antioncogene and is down-regulated in human gastric cancer tissues compared to normal gastric mucosa. It is predominantly expressed in the stomach and co-secreted with mucins, acting as a signaling growth factor with mitogenic activity, potentially involved in maintaining gastric mucosal integrity.
