Target Information
ITGB3BP is a transcription coregulator that can function as both coactivator and corepressor. Isoform 1 is involved in the coactivation of nuclear receptors for retinoid X (RXRs) and thyroid hormone (TRs) in a ligand-dependent manner. ITGB3BP also acts as a transcriptional corepressor via interaction with the NFKB1 NF-kappa-B subunit, potentially interfering with its transactivation domain. It can induce apoptosis in breast cancer cells through a caspase-2 mediated pathway involving mitochondrial membrane permeabilization, and may inhibit cyclin A-associated kinase. Additionally, ITGB3BP may play a role in incorporating newly synthesized CENPA into centromeres through interaction with the CENPA-NAC complex.
