Product Specific Information

This JC12 monoclonal antibody reacts with human Foxp1, a member of the Forkhead family of winged helix transcription factors. Foxp1 is expressed in nearly every human tissue, including lymphoid tissues (tonsil, spleen, thymus), epithelium, kidney, blood, and motor neurons.

Altered Foxp1 expression has been observed in cancers of the breast, lung, colon, prostate, and pancreas. High levels of Foxp1 expression in diffuse large B cell lymphomas can serve as a prognostic marker for survival. Foxp1 is also involved in early B cell development (pro-B to pre-B transition) and motor neuron specification and connectivity.

Applications Reported:

  • Immunoblotting (WB)
  • Immunohistology staining of paraffin-embedded tissue sections

Applications Tested:

  • Tested by western blot analysis on Jurkat cell lysates
  • Recommended concentration: 1–5 µg/mL
  • Optimize titration for best assay performance

Target Information

The FOXP1 gene belongs to subfamily P of the forkhead box (FOX) transcription factor family, which regulates tissue- and cell type-specific gene transcription during development and adulthood. The FOXP1 protein contains both DNA-binding and protein-protein interaction domains. This gene may act as a tumor suppressor and is located on chromosome 3p14.1, a region associated with tumor suppression. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
