Target Information
CD205 (also known as LY75 or Lymphocyte Antigen 75) is an integral membrane glycoprotein involved in antigen uptake, trafficking, and presentation that enhances antigen-specific T cell immunity.
CD205 is highly expressed by CD8+ dendritic cells and is also found in bone marrow Gr1+ cells, Langerhans cells, bone marrow-derived dendritic cells (BMDC), and thymic epithelial cells.
It functions as an endocytic receptor that directs captured antigens to specialized antigen-processing regions and can modulate B lymphocyte proliferation.
Dysfunction of CD205 has been associated with pneumonic plague and lipid pneumonia.
