GATA2 (GATA binding protein 2)는 GATA 전사인자 패밀리에 속하며, 적혈구 전구세포의 증식과 분화를 조절하는 신호 전달 경로에서 중요한 역할을 합니다. GATA 패밀리는 GATA1부터 GATA6까지 총 6개의 전사인자로 구성되어 있으며, GATA2는 내피세포에서 endothelin-1 유전자 발현을 조절하는 전사 활성화 인자로 작용합니다. 또한 배아 발생 동안 요생식계 및 신경계 등 다양한 조직의 분화에도 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
