Product Specific Information

This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, human, mouse, Xenopus, and zebrafish based on 100% sequence homology.
It is specific for the ~46 kDa EphrinB protein phosphorylated at Tyr317. Immunolabeling can be blocked by lambda-phosphatase treatment.

Target Information

EPHB2 is a receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the ephrin receptor family. Members of this family play critical roles in biological processes such as nervous system development, angiogenesis, and neural synapse formation and maturation.
Ephrins are divided into two classes:

  • Ephrin-A (EFNA): Anchored to the membrane via a glycosylphosphatidylinositol linkage
  • Ephrin-B (EFNB): Transmembrane proteins

Eph receptors are similarly divided into two groups based on extracellular domain sequence similarity and ligand-binding affinity. Ephrin receptors represent the largest subgroup within the receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) family. EphB4 binds to ephrin-B2 and is essential for vascular development.
