Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs, less than 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Cadherin-8, Cadherin-11, and Cadherin-12 is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
Cadherins are transmembrane glycoproteins involved in Ca²⁺-dependent cell-cell adhesion. They are differentially expressed in various tissues and play key roles in maintaining tissue integrity and morphogenesis.
Cadherins are categorized into:
- Type I: E-cadherin (cadherin-1), N-cadherin (cadherin-2), P-cadherin (cadherin-3), R-cadherin (cadherin-4)
- Type II: K-cadherin (cadherin-6), OB-cadherin (cadherin-11)
Cadherin-6 is expressed in the proximal tubule epithelium of the kidney, from which most renal cell carcinomas are derived.
