Target Information

TIMP-1 및 TIMP-2는 기질 금속단백분해효소(matrix metalloproteinase) 패밀리의 억제 효소로, 결합조직의 구조적 완전성을 유지하는 데 중요한 역할을 합니다.
TIMP-2는 72 kDa Type IV collagenase (MMP-2, gelatinase A)의 비활성형(pro)과 활성형 모두에 높은 결합 친화성을 가지며, 92 kDa Type IV collagenase (MMP-9, gelatinase B)의 활성형에도 결합합니다.
TIMP-2는 종양 세포 및 정상 태반 영양막 세포의 단백분해 침습성을 억제합니다.
