Target Information
NUAK1 (ARK5) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in various cellular functions. Overexpression of this kinase has been associated with tumor invasion and metastasis, particularly in colorectal neoplasms.
It regulates cellular senescence and ploidy by phosphorylating Ser-464 of LATS1, influencing its stability.
Controls cell adhesion through regulation of the myosin protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) complex.
Participates in DNA damage response by phosphorylating p53/TP53 at Ser-15 and Ser-392 and contributing to transcription activation at the CDKN1A/WAF1 promoter.
Acts as a tumor malignancy-associated factor under AKT1 regulation, suppresses Fas-induced apoptosis via CASP6 phosphorylation, and regulates UV-induced DNA damage response through CDKN1A phosphorylation and degradation.
