The EZdetect™ Hoechst stain kit is designed for rapid detection of mycoplasma contamination based on the uptake of the fluorescent stain Hoechst by cellular DNA. The dye exhibits high permeability, enabling quick entry into cells and efficient staining of nuclei.

특징 및 작용 원리

• Hoechst dye selectively binds to the minor grooves of DNA.
• Provides efficient and bright nuclear staining.
• Excitation and emission spectra are similar to DAPI:
  • Excitation maxima: 350–360 nm
  • Emission maxima: 450–460 nm
• Can be excited using xenon mercury arc lamp or UV laser.
• Detection through a blue filter.
• Mycoplasma appears as fine particulate or filamentous staining over the cytoplasm at 100× magnification.
• Cell nuclei act as endogenous positive controls.
