Target Information
Cytomegalovirus (HCMV), also known as human herpesvirus 5 (HHV-5), is an enveloped double-stranded DNA virus.
Glycoprotein B (gB) is the major antigenic protein within the envelope of HCMV and is essential for membrane fusion along with the gH/gL complex.
The unprocessed precursor of HCMV gB consists of 906 amino acids with an approximate molecular weight of 100 kDa.
