Target Information
Isocitrate dehydrogenases such as IDH1 catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to 2-oxoglutarate. These enzymes belong to two distinct subclasses, one utilizing NAD(+) and the other NADP(+) as electron acceptors.
Five isocitrate dehydrogenases have been reported: three NAD(+)-dependent enzymes localized to the mitochondrial matrix, and two NADP(+)-dependent enzymes, one mitochondrial and the other cytosolic.
The NADP(+)-dependent cytosolic enzyme encoded by IDH1 contains a PTS-1 peroxisomal targeting signal sequence and plays key roles in NADPH regeneration within peroxisomes and cytoplasm.
This antibody is specific for IDH1 (mutant R132H).
