Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
CPA1, also known as Carboxypeptidase A1, is a 419 amino acid secreted monomeric protein highly expressed in pancreatic tissue.
It functions as a pancreatic exopeptidase using zinc as a cofactor to catalyze the release of C-terminal amino acids from various proteins, playing a key role in protein digestion and degradation.
CPA1 may also be involved in zymogen inhibition, potentially blocking enzyme activation pathways.
Abnormal CPA1 levels are associated with pancreatic cancer, suggesting a role in tumor progression or suppression.
