Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs, approximately 50% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse Neuroglycan C is observed.

Target Information
Neuroglycan C is a transmembrane chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan exclusively expressed in the central nervous system. NGC gene expression is developmentally regulated and can be altered by psychostimulant addiction or nerve lesion. Its core protein has a unique multidomain structure distinct from other known proteoglycans and undergoes post-translational modifications such as phosphorylation and glycosylation.
Neuroglycan C acts as a part-time proteoglycan, changing from a proteoglycan form to a non-proteoglycan form during cerebellum and retina development, and is implicated in neuronal circuit formation in the central nervous system.
