5HTR2C 유전자는 serotonin receptor 2C 아형을 암호화하며, RNA 편집 과정을 통해 여러 수용체 이소폼을 생성하여 G 단백질과의 상호작용 및 신호 전달 조절에 영향을 미칩니다.
인간 연구에서는 우울증 및 자살 희생자에서 5-HT2C 편집 패턴의 이상이 보고되었습니다.
