Target Information
Replication factor C (RFC) is an essential DNA polymerase accessory protein required for DNA replication, repair, and telomere metabolism. RFC forms a heteropentameric complex that loads proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) onto DNA at primer-template junctions in an ATP-dependent manner. All five subunits share related RFC box sequences with nucleotide-binding motifs. RFC2, RFC3, RFC4, and RFC5 interact with Rad24, while RFC1 does not. RFC2 exhibits ATP binding important for DNA replication and checkpoint functions.
