Target Information
Staufen homolog 2 (STAU2) is a double-stranded RNA-binding protein involved in mRNA transport and localization within cells. It contains multiple dsRNA-binding domains that enable interaction with RNAs having double-stranded secondary structures. STAU2 shares 48.5% similarity with Drosophila staufen and 59.9% with human staufen. The protein may play a role in RNA binding events, and several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
