Product Specific Information

This peptide corresponds to 16 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human CTRP4.
PEP-0270 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20150.

Target Information

Adipose tissue plays a major role in regulating physiological and pathological processes such as metabolism and immunity by producing and secreting bioactive molecules termed adipokines.
One conserved family of adipokines is adiponectin/ACRP30 and its paralogs, the C1q/tumor necrosis factor-alpha-related proteins (CTRPs) 1–7.
Unlike adiponectin, which is expressed exclusively by differentiated adipocytes, CTRPs are expressed in various tissues and act mainly on liver and muscle to control glucose and lipid metabolism.
The crystal structure of adiponectin suggests a structural and evolutionary link between TNF and C1q-containing proteins, implying a common ancestral innate immunity gene.
Multiple isoforms of mouse CTRP4 have been reported.
