MYO18A는 골지막(Golgi membranes)을 세포골격과 연결하고, 소포 형성에 필요한 장력 생성에 관여할 수 있습니다. 또한 LURAP1 및 CDC42BPA/CDC42BPB와 함께 세포 돌출과 이동에 중요한 lamellar actomyosin retrograde flow 조절에 관여합니다. 세포 간 접촉에 필요한 기질세포 구조 유지에 관여하며, 대식세포의 선천면역 수용체 발현 및 활성 조절을 통해 염증 반응을 억제하는 역할을 합니다.
