Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of CD20 (Bp35), a 33–37 kDa non-glycosylated membrane receptor with four transmembrane domains. It is expressed on B lymphocytes (lost on plasma cells), follicular dendritic cells, and at low levels on peripheral blood T lymphocytes.
Target Information
CD20 is a non-glycosylated surface phosphoprotein (33–37 kDa) expressed on mature and most malignant B cells, a subpopulation of T lymphocytes, and follicular dendritic cells. It regulates transmembrane calcium conductance, cell cycle progression, and B-cell proliferation. CD20 is associated with lipid rafts, and its expression correlates with surface IgM expression. It remains on the cell surface following monoclonal antibody treatment, making it a valuable target for therapeutic B-cell depletion. CD20 dysfunction is linked to Ms4a1-related common variable immune deficiency.
