ZNF16 belongs to the Krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family and contains 17 C2H2-type zinc fingers. It may be involved in transcriptional regulation.
The protein encoded by this gene contains a C2H2 type of zinc finger and may function as a transcription factor.
This gene is located near ZNF7/KOX4 on chromosome 8. Two alternatively spliced variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
