Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family characterized by a ~40 amino acid F-box motif. F-box proteins form part of the SCF (SKP1–Cullin–F-box) ubiquitin ligase complex, which mediates phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
F-box proteins are classified into three groups:
- Fbws: Contain WD-40 domains
- Fbls: Contain leucine-rich repeats
- Fbxs: Contain other interaction modules or no recognizable motifs
The FBXO7 protein belongs to the Fbxs class and may regulate hematopoiesis. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified.
