Product Specific Information
- Reconstitute in 500 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
- The antigen shares 95% identity with mouse sequence.
- Specificity: Sortilin.
Target Information
Sortilin functions as a sorting receptor in the Golgi compartment and as a clearance receptor on the cell surface.
It is required for protein transport from the Golgi apparatus to the lysosomes by a pathway independent of the mannose-6-phosphate receptor (M6PR).
Also involved in protein transport from the Golgi apparatus to endosomes.
Sortilin promotes neuronal apoptosis by mediating endocytosis of proapoptotic precursors of BDNF (proBDNF) and NGFB (proNGFB).
Additionally, Sortilin acts as a receptor for neurotensin.
