Target Information
P-cadherin(Cadherin-3)은 Type 1 cadherin 단백질로, cadherin superfamily에 속합니다. Type 1 cadherin은 5개의 extracellular cadherin 반복 부위와 p120-catenin 및 beta-catenin에 결합하는 intracellular domain을 갖는 단일 통과 막단백질입니다.
Cadherin은 칼슘 의존적 세포-세포 접착 당단백질로, 발달, 상처 치유, 세포 신호 전달, 성장 및 분화 등 다양한 생물학적 과정에 관여합니다.
P-cadherin은 인간 태아 조직 및 성인 조직(표피 기저층, 유방, 전립선, 난소, 자궁경부, 모낭, 각막 내피 등)에서 발현됩니다. 또한 배아줄기세포, 정상 유방 및 모낭 줄기세포에서도 보고되었습니다.
P-cadherin의 과발현은 유방, 전립선, 난소, 대장, 위암 등에서 불량한 예후와 관련이 있습니다. CDH3 유전자의 돌연변이는 선천성 저모증(congenital hypotrichosis) 및 소아 황반이영양증(juvenile macular dystrophy)과 연관되어 있습니다.
