Target Information
The Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome (WAS) family of proteins share similar domain structures and are involved in signal transduction from cell surface receptors to the actin cytoskeleton. These proteins interact with multiple partners and are regulated by various stimuli. N-WASP (WASL gene product) is a homolog of WAS protein, ubiquitously expressed with highest levels in neural tissues. It binds directly to Cdc42 and promotes formation of long actin microspikes.
