Target Information
Galectin-1 belongs to a large family of carbohydrate-binding proteins called lectins.
It can exist as a monomer or homodimer and is expressed in various cell and tissue types.
Galectin-1 regulates cell growth and proliferation, induces apoptosis of activated T cells, modulates cytokine secretion, and inhibits pro-inflammatory cytokine production.
It plays a crucial role in both acute and chronic inflammation.
