Target Information
The DNAJA2 protein belongs to the evolutionarily conserved DNAJ/HSP40 family, which regulates molecular chaperone activity by stimulating ATPase activity. DNAJ proteins typically contain:
- A conserved 70-amino acid J domain at the N-terminus
- A glycine/phenylalanine (G/F)-rich region
- A cysteine-rich domain with four zinc finger-like motifs
DNAJA2 functions as a cochaperone of Hsp70s, assisting in protein folding and mitochondrial protein import in vitro.
