Target Information

HLA-DMB (major histocompatibility complex, class II, DM beta), also known as D6S221E, RING7, or HLADMB, is a human protein encoded by the HLA-DMB gene located on chromosome 6p21.32.
This class II molecule forms a heterodimer with HLA-DMA, both anchored in the membrane and located in intracellular vesicles. HLA-DMB plays a critical role in MHC class II peptide loading by facilitating the release of CLIP (class II-associated invariant chain peptide) from the peptide binding site.
Class II molecules are expressed in antigen-presenting cells. The beta chain is approximately 26–28 kDa and encoded by six exons. HLA-DMA and HLA-DMB together form a functional heterodimer essential for antigen presentation pathways.
HLA and MHC antibodies are key tools in Immunopeptidomics, enabling identification and characterization of neoantigens using high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry.
