This antibody specifically recognizes Ebola virus EBOV (Subtype Sudan, strain Gulu) Glycoprotein (GP).
Target Information
Ebola virus is an enveloped, negative-stranded RNA virus belonging to the Filoviridae family. It has a morphology similar to Marburg virus but lacks antigenic similarity.
Its genome consists of a nonsegmented RNA strand. SDS-PAGE profiles show seven structural proteins: the major nucleoprotein NP (104 kDa), glycoprotein GP (125 kDa), L protein (180 kDa), and four additional proteins—VP40 (40 kDa), ViPX (35 kDa), VP30 (30 kDa), and VP24 (24 kDa).
All proteins are encoded by monocistronic mRNA transcripts complementary to virion RNA. GP is the major surface spike protein and the only glycosylated viral protein (125 kDa).
