Description:
Monoclonal rat IgG2a is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.

Applications Reported:
Rat IgG2a Isotype Control eFluor® 615 is reported for use in immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical staining.

Applications Tested:
Validated for immunocytochemistry and immunohistochemistry. Use at the same concentration as the experimental antibody. Not validated for flow cytometry.

Filter Recommendation:
Use a filter capturing the 615 nm emission wavelength (e.g., Excitation 560/55, 585LP, Emission 645/75). A standard Alexa Fluor® 594 filter is acceptable.

Target Information

Rat IgG2a is an immunoglobulin subclass produced by the rat immune system. It activates complement and mediates antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). With a molecular weight of ~160 kDa, it consists of two heavy and two light chains. Commonly used as a control or reference antibody in rat model experiments, including flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry.
