MA1-70113 detects HLA-DR in human samples.
It has been successfully used in flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry procedures.
The immunogen used is DAUDI cells.

Target Information

HLA-DR, a member of the MHC class II family, is a transmembrane glycoprotein composed of a 36 kDa alpha chain (DRA) and a 27 kDa beta chain (DRB).

• The DRA gene contains 5 exons:
  • Exon 1 encodes the leader peptide
  • Exons 2 and 3 encode extracellular domains
  • Exon 4 encodes the transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions
• DRA acts as the sole alpha chain for DRB1, DRB3, DRB4, and DRB5.
• The beta chain (DRB) contains polymorphisms that determine peptide-binding specificity.
• HLA-DR is primarily expressed on antigen-presenting cells such as B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, thymic epithelial cells, and activated T lymphocytes.
• MHC class II molecules, including HLA-DR, bind processed peptides and present them to T-helper cells, playing a central role in immune response initiation.

HLA and MHC antibodies are essential tools in Immunopeptidomics, aiding in the identification and characterization of neoantigens via HPLC-MS/MS analysis.
