Target Information
Beta actin is one of six actin isoforms identified in humans. It is a non-muscle cytoskeletal protein found in all human cell types and plays key roles in cell motility, structure, and integrity. Beta and gamma actin coexist in most cell types as components of the cytoskeleton. Beta actin is ubiquitously expressed and commonly used as a loading control in protein detection assays such as Western blotting. Antibodies to beta-actin are valuable tools for studying intracellular distribution and cytoskeletal dynamics.
