Target Information

GPR105 (P2Y14) has been reported to be expressed in the brain. ESTs have been isolated from kidney, placenta, uterus, and heart/melanocyte/uterus libraries.
G-protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) represent one of the largest families of signaling molecules, with over a thousand members predicted. All GPCRs share a structural motif of seven membrane-spanning helices and exist in both active and inactive forms.
Activation by ligands leads to signaling through G-proteins and downstream effectors. Studies have revealed mechanisms of negative regulation (“turn-off” activity) that impact cellular physiology and pharmacological research.
