Target Information
Mediator complex는 진핵생물에서 RNA polymerase II 전사를 유도하는 다단백질 전사 공동활성화 인자입니다. MED28은 Magicin으로도 알려져 있으며, 다양한 세포와 조직에서 발현됩니다.
NIH3T3 세포에서 MED28 발현 억제 시 평활근 세포 분화 관련 유전자의 유의한 증가가 나타나며, 반대로 과발현 시 SMC 유전자 발현이 억제됩니다.
MED28은 Grb2 및 Merlin과 삼자 복합체를 형성할 수 있어 Merlin의 종양 억제 활성에 관여할 가능성이 있습니다. 또한 MED28은 HIV 의존 인자로 확인되어 HIV 치료 연구에 중요한 표적이 될 수 있습니다.
