Target Information
Transforming acidic coiled-coil (TACC) proteins are a conserved family of centrosome- and microtubule-interacting proteins implicated in cancer.
The TACC2 gene encodes a protein that concentrates at centrosomes throughout the cell cycle and lies within a chromosomal region associated with tumorigenesis.
Expression of this gene is induced by erythropoietin and may influence breast tumor progression.
Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
