PA1-4121 detects neuronal Nitric Oxide Synthase in human samples.
PA1-4121 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures.
The PA1-4121 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues P(19) R K G P P L P N G D T E C(31) of nNOS.

Target Information

NOS activity requires homodimerization as well as three cosubstrates (L-arginine, NADPH, and O₂) and five cofactors or prosthetic groups (FAD, FMN, calmodulin, tetrahydrobiopterin, and heme).
Several distinct NOS isoforms have been described and shown to represent the products of three distinct genes. These include two constitutive Ca²⁺/CaM-dependent forms of NOS:

• NOS1 (ncNOS) – activity first identified in neurons
• NOS3 (ecNOS) – activity first identified in endothelial cells
