Target Information
Dynamins are a subfamily of GTP-binding proteins that share sequence similarity in the N-terminal GTPase domain. They associate with microtubules and are involved in cellular processes such as endocytosis, cell motility, and membrane remodeling (e.g., bone resorption by osteoclasts). Dynamins interact with actin-binding and cytoskeletal proteins and can self-assemble to stimulate GTPase activity. Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms have been identified.
