• For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
• Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

The serum amyloid A (SAA) family includes apolipoproteins such as acute-phase SAA1 and SAA2, with SAA1 being the major plasma component. While primarily synthesized in the liver, extrahepatic production has also been observed. SAA levels can increase up to 1000-fold during inflammation and are valuable for disease diagnosis and monitoring. Elevated SAA values may occur even when CRP levels are normal, as SAA rises earlier and more sharply than CRP. Recent studies highlight the expanding functional roles of SAA.
