SYN1 (Synapsin 1)는 신경 시냅스 소포의 세포질 표면과 결합하는 신경 인산화 단백질을 암호화하는 synapsin 유전자 패밀리의 구성원입니다. 이 단백질은 축삭 형성(axonogenesis)과 시냅스 형성(synaptogenesis)의 조절에 관여하며, 여러 단백질 키나아제의 기질로 작용합니다. 인산화는 신경 말단에서 단백질의 기능 조절에 중요한 역할을 할 수 있습니다.
이 유전자의 돌연변이는 Rett 증후군과 같은 X-연관 신경 퇴행성 질환과 관련이 있을 수 있습니다. 다양한 스플라이싱 변이체가 보고되어 있습니다.
