Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the Golgi-localized, gamma adaptin ear-containing, ARF-binding (GGA) family. These proteins are involved in regulating protein trafficking between the trans-Golgi network and lysosomes. They contain an amino-terminal VHS domain for mannose 6-phosphate receptor sorting and a carboxy-terminal region homologous to the gamma-adaptin ear domain. This family member may play a key role in cargo molecule regulation and clathrin-coated vesicle assembly.
