Target Information
MAPK11 (p38 beta) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in various cellular processes and is activated by proinflammatory cytokines and environmental stress.
This protein is part of the MAP kinase family, which integrates multiple biochemical signals affecting proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation, and development.
p38 MAPK beta is closely related to p38 MAP kinase and is activated through phosphorylation by MAP kinase kinases (MKKs), preferably MKK6.
Transcription factor ATF2/CREB2 has been identified as a substrate of this kinase.
