Target Information
Ubiquitin은 세포 내 단백질을 26S proteasome을 통해 분해하도록 표적화하는 고도로 보존된 단백질입니다. 이 유전자는 N-말단의 ubiquitin과 C-말단의 ribosomal protein S27a로 구성된 융합 단백질을 암호화합니다. 발현된 단백질은 번역 후 가공되어 자유 ubiquitin 단량체와 ribosomal protein S27a를 생성합니다.
Ribosomal protein S27a는 40S 리보솜 소단위의 구성 요소로, C4-type zinc finger 도메인을 포함하며 세포질에 위치합니다. 이 유전자에서 유래한 pseudogene이 존재하며, ribosomal protein L40 및 S30 역시 유사한 ubiquitin 또는 ubiquitin-like 단백질과의 융합 형태로 합성됩니다.
여러 대체 스플라이싱 전사체가 확인되었으며, 모두 동일한 단백질을 암호화합니다.
