Target Information
Cyclins are regulatory subunits of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) that control transitions at specific phases of the cell cycle. The temporal expression of cyclins is tightly regulated and plays a critical role in controlling CDK enzymatic activity. Cyclin/CDK complexes are essential for progression through specific stages of the cell cycle. In mammalian somatic cells, Cyclin A is required for S phase and passage through G2 phase.
