Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
The BCCIP gene product interacts with BRCA2 and p21 proteins and is an evolutionarily conserved nuclear protein with multiple interacting domains.
The N-terminal region shares homology with calmodulin and M-calpain, suggesting calcium-binding capability.
Functionally, BCCIP may serve as a cofactor for BRCA2 in tumor suppression and modulate CDK2 kinase activity via p21.
It plays roles in BRCA2 and RAD51 nuclear focus formation, double-strand break-induced homologous recombination, and cell cycle progression.
Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.
