Target Information
TRIM25, also known as estrogen responsive finger protein (EFP), is a member of the RING finger-B box-coiled coil family and a downstream target of estrogen receptor α.
Mice lacking this gene display an underdeveloped uterus and reduced estrogen responsiveness, indicating its essential role in estrogen-dependent proliferation.
TRIM25 expression is increased in breast carcinoma, promoting tumor growth via E3 ubiquitin ligase activity targeting the 14-3-3σ checkpoint protein.
Additionally, TRIM25 E3 ubiquitin ligase is crucial for the RIG-I signaling pathway in antiviral innate immunity.
