Target Information
Complement C4 유전자는 classical activation pathway의 일부인 산성 형태의 complement factor 4를 암호화합니다. 단일 사슬 전구체로 발현되어 분비 전에 α, β, γ 체인으로 절단된 삼합체를 형성하며, 항원-항체 복합체와 다른 보체 구성요소 간 상호작용을 위한 표면을 제공합니다. α 체인은 C4 anaphylatoxin을 방출하여 국소 염증 반응을 매개할 수 있습니다. 이 단백질 결핍은 전신성 홍반성 루푸스 및 제1형 당뇨병과 관련이 있습니다. 본 유전자는 염색체 6의 MHC class III 영역에 위치하며, 개인별로 1~3개의 복제본을 가질 수 있는 다양한 haplotype이 존재합니다.
