PIM3 serine/threonine kinase (PIM-3 oncogene)는 protooncogene 계열에 속하며, 간세포암 발달 과정에서 발현되어 인간 간암 세포주 증식에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 또한 인간 췌장암 세포에서 발현되어 BAD 단백질을 인산화하여 세포 사멸을 억제합니다. PIM3는 대장, 흉선, 소장을 제외한 다양한 조직에서 발현됩니다.
