Target Information
The 6x His tag is a synthetic oligopeptide consisting of six consecutive histidine residues (HHHHHH).
It is commonly expressed at the N- or C-terminus of recombinant proteins to facilitate purification via immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC).
His tag-specific antibodies are used for detection or co-immunoprecipitation of tagged proteins.
Histidine residues bind selectively to Ni²⁺, enabling efficient purification using Ni²⁺-NTA adsorbents.
